We have a variety of programming, ranging from the weekly regulars such as Jummah and Halaqas to annual events such as the beginning of year Don’t Be Chai Social and Ramadan and Eid Gatherings.
Open to all, these jummahs offer a work accessible opportunity to attend Friday prayer, while connecting you to speakers that represent a variety of local Muslim organizations
Halaqa series are offered weekly by Dr. Yassine Daoud and discuss a variety of topics that will be shared ahead of the Thursday halaqa. To make suggestions on halaqa ideas, please fill out this form.
The JHGMSA plans to offer events and programming to the community every month or every two months, which may take shape as excursions to local cultural centers/mosques, hiking trips or even community service initiatives. The frequency of these events may change depending on the constituency of the executive board.
Along with a delicious offering of chai, this social is a great opportunity to meet new people and form community bonds early into the academic year.
Iftars are offered twice a week during the month of Ramadan in a vibrant and social atmosphere with a variety of food and cuisines offered at each iftar.
Eid celebrations can range from an organized dinner banquet to a potluck picnic.
